BOYS BASKETBALL

Games This Week: Tomorrow vs Pocono Mountain West (7 pm), Friday vs Freedom (7 pm), Saturday vs Morris Hill (NJ) (2 pm)

Last Week: 1-1 – Defeated William Allen, 55-49  with Kamoni Smith-Johnson, 12, scoring 20 points.

Season Record: 7-6, 6th in 6A

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Games This Week: Tomorrow at Pocono Mountain West (6 pm), Friday at Freedom (7 pm)

Last Week: 1-1 – Defeated Pleasant Valley, 48-29 with Teagan Strunk, 10, scoring 16 points.

Season Record: 7-6, 9th in 6A

WRESTLING

Matches This Week: Tomorrow at Liberty (7 pm), Friday/Saturday – Coal Cracker Invitational at Lehighton High School (10 am/9 am)

Last Week: 0-1 – Lost to Easton, 63-6  with Zachary Berwick, 11, recording a win.

Season Record: 12-2, 4th in 3A (1-1 in league matches)

SWIMMING

Meets This Week: Tonight vs Salisbury (5 pm, originally 1/18), Friday vs East Stroudsburg South (5 pm)

Last Week: Sigrid Burgess, 11, and Peter Leyba, 11, set personal bests.

Burgess set personal bests in the 50 freestyle at 31:78, 500 freestyle at 7:51, and 100 freestyle in the 400 freestyle relay at 1:14.

Leyba set personal bests in the 200IM at 2:40:38 and the 100 butterfly at 1:08:38.

RIFLE

This Week: Today vs North Pocono (3:30 pm), Thursday vs Salisbury (3:30 pm)

Last week: Won against Liberty (496 to 496).

The top five shooters for SHS were Maxsim Lamberton,11; Izzy Lisnik, 11; Will Tonnies,11; Alex Franolich,11; and Gavin Dunkelberger,11.

CHESS

This Week: Today vs East Stroudsburg North (4 pm, virtual)

It’s been a tough season for the chess team with only two returning players: Jacob Bajek, 11, and Matt Sanchez, 11. Bajek is ranked first and Sanchez is ranked seventh. Seniors,  Hassan Malik and Alex Morales have taken the lead in helping their new teammates”, said Coach Stauffer.
