What is your favorite part about teaching?
The relationships I build with the students.
If you could teach another subject what would it be and why?
Science because it was always one of my favorite subjects when I was in school.
If you had gone into another profession, what would it be and why?
Something where I’d be working with animals because I love animals.
What is one piece of advice you would share with your students?
The more you believe in yourself, the more you will be able to do!
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
To give all people the ability to learn to read easily because it is such a challenging yet valuable skill.
How and when did you know teaching was what you wanted to do?
In my senior year of high school at Stroudsburg, I was a Morey Intern and got to go to Morey Elementary one period a day to help a teacher. I enjoyed that experience.
What is a joke you always keep in your pocket?
Which letter of the alphabet has the most water? A: The “C”
Who do you look up to?
My dad was an educator and coach for 40+ years and made a difference in many kids’ lives.
What will your life look like after you retire?
Lots of time on the beach, reading, and with family.
What is your favorite memory of teaching?
I can not pinpoint just one, but seeing students have that “ah ha” moment is the best!
What is a hidden talent of yours?
I can wiggle my ears.
What is one thing you wish people knew about teaching/teachers in general?
A teacher is not just a teacher to their students. A teacher is also a caregiver, a nurse, a therapist, a coach, a cheerleader, and much more.
What makes you smile?
When students are excited to learn.
When you retire one day, what will you miss most about teaching?
The students!
What is something your students have taught you?
Take a moment and get to know them. They all want to be heard and have things to share and they like hearing what you will share with them too.
