The SHS Science Olympiad team competes at invitationals and EPC league, North East Regional, and the Pa State competitions. Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events.

Events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation.Ai??

The team took home a First place finish at the North Pocono Initational, a 4th consecutive EPC championship, and placed 3rd at the regional competitionAi??narrowly missing the tie breaker as Stroudsburg scored the same number of points as the 2nd place team.Ai??

The continued success of the team is an indicatorAi??of the quality of the education the students of SHS receive and the team members work ethic. On April 27th the team will depart for Juniata College to compete against the top 36 schools in the state.Ai??
