Mini-THON has a new look this year

Controversy about Mini-THON becoming a prioritized event at Stroudsburg High School

Mini-THON is an overnight event and fundraiser for FTK (For The Kids), a non-profit organization that raises money for pediatric cancer. The proceeds go towards research, cost of care, and making sure special care providers are able to take care of children who are suffering from pediatric cancer.

This year, Mini-THON has a new advise: Ms. Sarah Davis. “[The] goal is to increase the awareness and education of pediatric cancer, all while coming together as a school and as a community to be a part of something bigger than ourselves,” said Davis.

Students stay up from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. in support of children who suffer from pediatric cancer. Mini-THON is an event filled with fun activities such as music, dancing, games, crafts, food, and much more.

Many educators and school administrative officials around the country believe that Mini-THON increases school spirit and leadership skills among the student body.

The administration and student body believe in the mission of the FTK organization, and hope to host a successful Mini-THON again this year.
