At which school in the district do you teach?

SHS.

 What subjects do you teach?

AP Environmental Science, Forensics, Biology.

What grades do you teach?

Mostly 10th and 12th.

How long have you been teaching at SASD?

 This is my 18th year.

 Is there anything you wish you had known as a first-year teacher? 

Give out more detentions…every single kid is trying to take advantage of you and you don’t realize it!!!!

What is your favorite part about teaching? 

Interacting with the class and learning about the students and hopefully giving them some hot tips for the future.

What is one piece of advice you would share with your students? 

Start investing your money in index funds and don’t touch it until you retire.  Learn about the magic of compound interest.

What is your favorite sports team? Why are they your favorite? 

Tottenham Hotspur (English premier league).  No other team can make me feel so sad on the inside.

 How and when did you know that teaching was what you wanted to do?

Oh, this isn’t what I want to do.  I want to be hanging out on a beach or climbing a mountain or something, but you don’t get paid for those things (unless you are some lame influencer or something).  But I basically figured out I really like the education field during my time student teaching and the connections I made with the kids.
