The Stroudsburg athletic program was able to enjoy a full week of games and practices this past week. Baseball, softball, and track and field all continued their regular season as boys tennis competed in the District XI singles tournament.

The baseball team had an up and down week. Starting with Emmaus on Monday, April 26, the boys lost a very close game 7-6. They rebounded on Wednesday with a 5-2 win over Freedom. On Friday, they lost to Northampton 10-2, and then finished up with a high scoring, 10-9 win over Delaware Valley.

Next week, the baseball team has another loaded schedule, with games against Whitehall on Tuesday, William Allen on Thursday, and Easton on Saturday.

Softball had a rough start to the week, falling to Emmaus, Freedom, and Northampton. The girls were able to end their three game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Delaware Valley on Saturday.

Next week, the girls will host Whitehall on Tuesday, Honesdale on Wednesday for senior night, and Easton on Saturday. They will also travel down to William Allen on Thursday.

The track and field team continued their success this week at home against Pleasant Valley. The boys side dominated the Bears on their way to a 107-43 win. The girls also competed very well with a commanding 106-44 win.

On Monday, May 3, the boys and girls teams will compete at Emmaus. This will be their last competition before the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and District XI championship races.

The boys tennis regular season is over, but this past week was the District XI singles tournament. Junior John Willis finished third in the district, one week after taking gold at the EPC singles championship.

This upcoming week, the boys will compete in the District XI team tournament. They will look to bring home more medals to Stroudsburg.
